Outside Programs
Here's a collection of neighborhood programs, all run by nonprofit organizations, that Children and Parents at Riverside might be interested in learning about. This is by no means a complete list... many more programs can be found. If you are aware of a program that might be appropriate for this page, please drop us a line. These programs are neither sponsored nor endorsed by Riverside Elementary School.

Cub Scouts Pack 311 This very active Cub Scout pack services the Riverside Drive Elementary School area. There are approximately 80 scouts currently enrolled in the Pack, many of whom are Riverside Drive students. Boys can join any time during the year. The Pack is open to boys from first grade through fifth grade, at which time they transfer into Boy Scouts. Some of the activities the Pack participates in are hikes, camp-outs, archery, picnics, Dodger games, a Pinewood Derby (where the boys build and race small wooden boats), a Raingutter Regatta (same as above but with boats), as well as ceremonies and other fun events. As the boys progress through the ranks, they earn and collect a variety of medals, patches and awards which they proudly display on their uniforms. The Cub Scouts is an ideal way for families to engage in meaningful activities together and gives boys a wonderful sense of achievement and self-esteem.
